    MODIFIED JUNIOR UMPIRE CLINIC!

    *You must attend a classroom date and a field session. If you cannot make the field session listed here you may attend a different field session as long as we know ahead of time.  


    *Registration ahead of time is required!

    This clinic qualifies a junior to officiate the 1/2 and 3/4 level of youth lacrosse only(the final decisions on game assignments come from assignors)!


    Modified Junior Beginner Clinics are for prospective umpires 16 years of age or younger and 9th and 10th grade. We will train you on the basics of lacrosse umpiring for the Youth 1/2 and 3/4 level games through an online classroom session and on-the-field training. Completing the course, passing the youth test, passing the field rating session, maintaining a US Lacrosse Officials Membership(if you already have a player membership you can add an officials one for no additional cost) and joining EMWLUA earns the participant a Modified Junior Rating. This rating allows this official to officiate the youth 1/2 and 3/4 level games ONLY. 

    Clinic includes a free Whistle!

    Requirements for new officials:

    1) Join EMWLUA (included in your clinic fee )

    2) Join US Lacrosse (designate "official" and have a valid USL member number) This is not an additional cost if you already have a membership as a player.

    3) Attend a clinic session and a field training for the clinic NO EXCEPTIONS.

    4) Pass the Youth online annual exams available at USlacrosse.org.   A score of 80% or above is required.

    EMWLUA reserves the right to combine clinics or change locations based on enrollment levels.  Registered students will receive detailed location and instructor contact information 10 days before the clinic starts.

    Adult Beginner Clinic - virtual

    2 Virtual Sessions via Google Meet

    Dec 26th: 6PM - 830PM

    Dec 27th: 6PM - 830PM

    Field Sessions will be listed separately and the options will be discussed during the classroom. We typically have field sessions indoors in feb(westford location) and outdoors in different locations in early March. As soon as field training is confirmed we will update everyone.

    *Included in your clinic price is a whistle, penalty flag and cards. 

    Participants will be responsible for:

    1) Attending all virtual classroom sessions

    2) sign up for a US Lacrosse membership designated Official. Your USL membership includes a rule book. 

    3)Complete the Free USL Girls' Lacrosse Rules Online Course available at uslacrosse.org.   

    3) participation with visible screen during Google Meet Sessions

    4) attendance of an on field training

    5) completion of USL Girls Lacrosse High School Rules Exam

    6) completion of USL Youth Rules Exam(if planning to work youth games.)

    Upon successful completion and satisfactory performance, participants will be cleared for assignment for youth and HS Lacrosse games.  -Adherence to protective/extra equipment/game-day procedures is required of Officials.

    EMWLUA reserves the right to combine clinics based on enrollment levels.  Registered students will receive the steps on how to join the google meet a few days before the session.
